Long-distance move from Devils Lake, ND to Denver, CO

Awful.

Worst experience by far. Long story short, their communication was horrid, their quote was dishonest, the trucking company was a complete fraud. My tools were stolen, items were broken and I still have belongings left in another state that I will have to revel and get myself. The way my storage unit was packed was unreal. $4100 for absolute stress and chaos. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS. Waste of my time and money. Their customer service is a joke and they have refused to reimburse me for anything, including broken items, stolen items and traveling expenses for me to have to go get the rest of my stuff. Mortified by this experience. I 100% believe this company is fraudulent.

Long-distance move from Pittsburgh, PA to Tampa, FL

Great Customer Service.

I think it was more than fair pricing. I spoke to Brett and then Ben the Senior Logistics man and he took me the rest of the way. I went from Pittsburgh to Tampa for 5200 in a 3 bedroom home move when everyone else quoted me atleast 9k. These guys were professionals and they knew what they were doing! They treated my wife Karens China cabinet with the special protection Ben fairly told me about charging up front for. He covered every detail, level of pickup, access and space needed. If I didn't get the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Curtis I SPOKE with Jlyn I several times and she was also really nice. Overall great job, you are Experts!

Long-distance move from Missouri to California

Moving.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE A SCAM! This company will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your money. This experience was one of the worst of my life. IF I COULD LEAVE 0 STARS I WOULD.
I spoke with UME about a professional move from Saint Louis, MO w to Long Beach, CA, delivered on June 28, 2019. He quoted my move $1800 and I paid a deposit that same day. When I spoke to a Quality Assurance team member, I was honest with the amount of furniture that would be moved. My inventory was correct as noted that it should be in the contract. "All adjustments should be made prior to pick up to prevent any unexpected price changes upon pickup."
On the day of the move, one driver showed up with an 18 wheeler that looked like it was about to break down in front of me. The driver of the truck was rude and pushy. He stated that my inventory took up a larger square footage in the truck than estimated, increasing my fee. The drive then proceeded to charge me $800 more than the quote. While I understand that an original quote is not always accurate this was a significant difference, especially when I went through the necessary process of assessing my inventory and then still running into hidden fees. After going over the price, the driver even tried to claim that my deposit I already paid to UME did not count toward the price. I called Jennifer from customer service explaining this upcharge but no one rom UME responded to my voicemail. After all this, the truck driver then hired two random locals in street clothes to move my things and furniture. Couches and boxes were thrown around carelessly and it was clear these were not professional movers.
Over the next month I was continuously called promising that my things would be delivered and everytime I would then receive a call that the truck was broken down and no where near my drop off location. I again called UME, leaving a message, explaining the situation and the unprofessionalism of the move. I left my phone number and never received a call back. I took off three days of work expecting a delivery. During these weeks of waiting, I continuously called the Customer service line but no one ever picked up. Even after leaving messages with a call back number I never heard from UME.
Finally, I received my stuff but not without difficulty. The truck broke down 30 minutes from my delivery point. Mechanics could not fix the truck and it was towed to a truck yard. I then had to rent my own uhaul and drive it to the truck yard. Finally my stuff was loaded into the Uhaul and I then had to drive it to Long Beach and move my items into my apartment myself. After looking through my items tables were damaged and boxes were completely mangled even though all items were packed appropriately and fragile items labeled glassware. Again showing the move was unprofessional.
I wrote a demand letter asking for a refund based on the fact that the move was not professional. I had to move things into my apartment myself and I even had to pay for a uhaul! paid for a professional and timely coordinated move, which I did not receive. I was promised that I would have a liaison between myself and UME partners to ensure that my move went smoothly, but this did not occur. Finally after this letter was sent I receive a call from UME. He states that they can only refund me for the deposit I paid them. He said they would not pay for the damaged tables or anything else. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS COMPANY IF THEY DO NOT COVER DAMAGES! Since I did not have time to argue I accepted the refund of my deposit. Here we are three weeks later and nothing. I called them again leaving a message and no one responds. I will definitely be filing a suit and posting reviews to every review website out there. That is how strongly I feel this company mistreats their customers. They will do anything to take your money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Get a pod and save yourself the headache. Worst experience of my life!

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Rye, NY

Great Job!

I hired these guys to help me move just from Georgia to New York. They gave me the best price of all the other moving companies available so I booked with them. They were a little late with the delivery, but I didn't mind because they were very apologetic and everything came exactly as it had left which I found to be the most important thing. I would definitely recommend using them for your own move!

Long-distance move from Ithaca, NY to Portland, OR

Not bad after all.

Helped me move from NY to OR. The service was fine, nothing white glove or anything (budget move), the movers they sent us worked hard and were respectful enough. There was a small suprise fee on move day for my driveway being too long for them to carry furniture that far under same price which is understandable. The only reason I’m leaving 4 stars is because our stuff was picked up a day before I was hoping for but it all worked out and we saved a lot going this route. Would recommend based on customer service and my stuff making it in tact.

Misleading.

Long review, but bottom line up front is I highly recommend you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Here’s my experience. Needing to move several pieces of antique furniture and some personal items across country I searched on line for moving companies. My search brought me to United Moving Experts, among others, as I imagine your search did. I had two criteria, besides price, that I was looking for in selecting a mover (or broker). One was I expected a pre-move walkthrough and the other is I wanted my estimate and actual payment to be based on weight, not volume. That second requirement was key. Different movers can load the same items and get significantly different cubic feet used. But the weight is the weight, and I had a pretty good idea of how much my stuff weighed. That’s why the government and most private companies that offer relocation do your move by weight. United Moving Experts promised me both. I worked with a sales rep (George Mack) that was very responsive; right up until the company got paid. He gave me his cell number and promised to work with me throughout the move. He called and texted numerous times, mostly pressuring me to sign and pay the deposit as he had the “space reserved on the truck” at “56 cents per pound” (actual quotes) but summer rates would kick in and price would go up to 60 cents. I signed. After that I was also contacted by customer service, who had me complete the paperwork, confirmed what I was moving and said I should contact them if I had any questions or problems. I agreed to a three day window for pickup, a Tuesday through Thursday. On the Monday afternoon before the window opened I was called by the actual mover and told they’d do the pickup the next afternoon. I asked about a walkthrough, as the broker had promised, and the mover said they didn’t need to as there wasn’t that much to move and the truck would be empty. I agreed. The pickup went smoothly until the bill of lading was presented. The cost was by volume, not by the weight estimate, and was fully 50% higher than the estimate. I complained to the mover but he said they always move by volume and I had to pay that amount. I called and texted George Mack, my rep who promised to be with me throughout my move, and he didn’t answer the phone and never responded to my text. I emailed customer service (still not too late to direct the mover to also get the weight). I never got a response from them either. So my conclusion is the United Moving Experts is, at best, incompetent at selecting and managing the movers who will transport your good, or, at worst, dishonest and operates on a business model that is based on a lack of integrity. In either case, they do not deserve your business.

Long-distance move from Newburgh, IN to Roanoke, VA

An honest warning.

United Moving Experts are brokers. I am warning you, this company is here to make a quick dollar off of non-experienced movers.
1. Everything will start perfectly, you will make contact, the “estimations” will be “extremely accurate,” you receive your papers, sign them, and then the deception and finger pointing begins.
a. You will have to pay about 30% of the move up-front, which is solely their effort of collecting your money. Not only that, but the estimation on the original weight is completely inaccurate. I walked through my apartment and outlined EVERYTHING to EXTREME detail with the original broker I spoke with. Then, when the “check-up” call takes place, just prior to your move, they will ramp up the estimation, and sense you have already signed, you are basically stuck with the complete lies they lead on about.
b. This company deceives and gets you to believe what they are saying because they honestly come off as honest people, but the further you dig into everything, you realize what is happening: they are stealing your money, and providing a very, very sub par service.
c. I worked with about 4 different guys in the matter of 60 days, each one telling me they would be my contact the entire time. Every time I would call back, I was informed they were no longer with the company.
d. They let you know after you sign and get everything going, the pick-up and delivery of your items are ONLY ESTIMATES with windows that are weeks long.
2. All being said, this company does do the bones of what they tell you they will do. They hire HORRIBLY rated moving companies, some of which that don’t even register with the Better Business Bureau. The company they hired for my move had ratings and reviews where they keep individuals’ items for MONTHS at a time. MONTHS. What causes these extended holds is the fact that whatever moving company they hire is trying to load multiple moves onto 1 truck, so your items literally get put on the same truck as another individuals move. NO THANKS.
3. I completely cancelled my trip, lost all my deposits, well over $1000 dollars, because there was absolutely NO way I was allowing this sub par moving company hired by hagglers (UME) to take my items of of my doorstep.
The moral of the story is this: Moving companies are expensive, there is no doubt, but I SWEAR to you this company will NOT save you money. They make you feel as if they will, they swindle and coddle you to feel safe and then the fees begin to RACK up. In you move, before you hire this dirty company, do this:
1. Get a large UHAUL, pack everything into boxes, call a moving company (Two Men & a Truck, or another local company) and simply hire two guys to come move your stuff onto the truck. Then once you reach where you are headed in the UHAUL, hire two moving guys to come move it all into your new place. All you will have to do is pack and unpack and this process will only cost you about $1200 TOTAL by the end of it. This company will cost you nearly double of what the initial estimation process was.
United Moving experts will PEEL you for money, please trust me, you have been warned.

Excellent.

I usually don't leave reviews, but I had to after my amazing experience with the United Moving Experts. To say this company prioritizes customers and their experience with the movers and staff would be an understatement. I highly recommend this company, the price isn't too high especially for the service you get. Everything from the customer service representative on the phone to the actual movers who showed up, I can't find one thing to complain about. With my past experience with moving companies, I haven’t always been impressed, this company clearly cares about the people they are helping, and it’s greatly appreciated. Awesome service from an awesome company.

Highly Recommended.

I am very impressed with their services, Their customer service is awesome, very polite, mannerable, and didn’t break a thing, I will be using United Moving Experts again if I move in the future. I had them move my furniture from Columbus Ohio to Watertown Wi. They were on time picking up and dropping off which was very critical to my schedule due to me having surgery later that day..

Being that I recently became disabled having United Moving Experts help me transition and have a smooth process was great. They followed the extra instructions that was given to them and I didn’t have to repeat myself twice. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get help moving at a low cost. Thanks United Moving Experts Team!
