True American Van Lines

Called this company for estimate..Not in Montana where our belongings were.They wanted a guesstimate on what we had.They told us a price reduction because it was a pickup that would be on an empty truck they were driving back to Vegas. We were relocating in Phoenix and so it was not out of their way. Put 1000.00 down and told us it would be a total of 6500.00 .We went back to Montana at the time they were going to be there anyway. They showed up a day later and loaded our belongings up.Then the bill for 9000.00 Dollars.I wanted to tell them to go to hell.I don’t think we owe them a dime more for their hidden costs. People DONT us this business..Hidden fees..Ripped us off..Still have our belongings in Vegas.Going to bring it to us..Haven’t paid for the balance owed yet.Tried to call main office ..Won’t pick up the phone..Scammers!

Please run away from this company! It is a real fraud. They simply didn't show up on the day of my move after constantly lying that their truck was on the way to our house. Our buyers were moving in next day, and it created a nightmare scenario for us. I called them multiple times, but none of my calls was returned. They basically left us in limbo of uncertainty where we had to take some drastic measures to vacate the house. We had to choose alternative solutions to complete our move at the additional cost. They did not respond to any of my emails/phone calls and refused to return the initial deposit of $1,300. I had to contact my credit card to complete a refund. The stress that they put us through is simply unacceptable. The worst experience EVER!!!

Where do I even begin- This company is extremely unprofessional, they don’t communicate, they will outright lie to you, string you along, and will intentionally put you in a situation to fail. When the situation turns south (which is likely with the lack of communication and transparency) they will not be in your corner despite outright lying and stringing you along to make you think they are. Working with them has probably been the sketchiest customer service experience of my life! Here are a few points without getting into the detailed specifics:

- I gave True American Van Lines a specific date we needed to be moved out by. They did not honor those dates, nor did they provide those accurate dates to the movers. It put us in a time crunch with our backs up against the wall with zero choice on what to do.

- Upon informing True American Van Lines that I needed update the address and the items list (every day twice a day for 3 days), I was outright lied to about the type of move (hourly vs. cubic square feet) nor did they provide the updated address to the movers. I have these lies on a recorded line with dates that have been reported to the BBB. Giovanna even stated, “why would you update the list since it’s an hourly move, it doesn’t even make sense.” The move they quoted a little under $5k actually costed over $9k. Even though we had the updated items list, they refused to update it.

- Upon the move being completed, I spoke with Giovanna on multiple occasions where she strung me along telling me she was looking into things, that she would call me back (the call backs never happen) and pretended she was doing something about it. Fast forward, I call back to check in (because, again, they do NOT call you back when they say they will) only to get Cody on the phone. Cody was the most unprofessional and rude customer service person I have ever worked with. He stated “So, Sue us then” and was outright arguing with me. He didn’t even have all the information before he started to argue. It literally felt like arguing with a teenager.

- When I needed to contact them on the day of the move, there was no one to be contacted because it was a weekend.

- They are a broker company who contracts your business and sells it to Ideal Moving. Ideal Moving only accepts Cash or Money Order upon delivery and pickup. (This alone is sketchy because who carries $9k in cash around unless you’re trying to be sketchy with taxes). Another super sketchy thing is that Ideal Moving requires 70% cash on pick up. So not only did they require cash on a Sunday, but they jacked up the price (due to us not being able to update the cubic feet since they wouldn’t let us provide the updated items list) and we couldn’t even access a bank.

- They told me I was supposed to get a call from Quality Assurance before the move, which never happened. When I called prior to the move to follow up that’s when they told me it was an hourly move and that I wouldn’t actually get a call from them (also on a recorded line).

These are just a FEW of the things with this company that went south. My advice- there are several other moving companies that provide a much better experience. RUN FAR FAR FAR AWAY from this company! You have been warned!

Adam and his guys packed all our furniture and carefully loaded it onto the truck. Most importantly, they stayed calm, kind, and collected when we dealt with the apartment's building manager, who showed up screaming at everyone. We showed up at our new apartment, and before we knew it, he had all the furniture assembled and in place. They even made some excellent suggestions on arranging the table in the rooms. If you wish to move without stress, this is the company to go with!

Kudos to the immense hard work and excellence True American Van Lines is providing citizen of TX with. Moving sounds, a simple and easy task though but going through it can be massive, it is a big task to move a whole house which you have been living in for years, my house was upturned, and I was afraid of moving by my own. Most of the movers were out of my budget, after making several calls to different companies I reached to True American Van Lines and knowing that they are offering many facilities with the move in such affordable rates made me lock the deal right away. Every penny they charged did justice with what they have done. I am sure no workers are as dedicated as Adam and the crew of four; they were the best! Perfectionists.

SCAM ALERT!!!! FRAUD ALERT!!!! No matter how they try to reply to this review know that I have tried my best to just get a single true answer about time, location, care of my belongings…..No communication. Moving coast to coast. I had to load half of my stuff myself up to the truck. They came early to grab our stuff on October 6 when we were planning to move October 16th. Saying this would allow for delivery the same day we were to arrive at our new house. They told us our delivery would be on or just after October 22nd. Writing this November 24th and they have been lying to me the whole time. Jacked up prices after showing up to grab my stuff. Tracker shows my stuff still on the wrong coast and in fine print they say they have 30 BUSINESS days after first available date of delivery. Like talking to their sales guys to get a plan set was just a waste of breath. They do not care about you, your time, your belongings. They even managed to break my furniture loading it into the truck. I can only hope I haven’t given them money for nothing.

For the low-low price of $8000, this company will pick up all of your stuff prepacked, jerk you around for 3 months, break nearly all your furniture, and deliver it nearly a month later than the date you agreed to all while gaslighting you by dodging your calls, not taking responsibility for losing/breaking your stuff and then insists that you are in fact the problem. But don't worry, if at any time you tell their representatives "no" when they decide to grace you by calling you while you are busy at work, they threaten to sell your stuff at auction.

I wish I got to tell my customers to go fuck themselves, fail to deliver on my contractually obligated promises, demand multiple extra sums of money from the client while holding their possessions ransom, and then have the gall to get upset with the client because they got upset at any point.

0/10 would not use their services again. I hope to never work with this company for the rest of my life. This was a harrowing experience and the previous times I used a moving company to move between NJ and CA, they did not damage *any* of my belongings, gave me a 1-week window for delivery that they followed through on, packed and unpacked all of my belongings, and did so while charging less than this scam of a company.
