Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Do not use this company

Used this company for our move from south Florida to North texas. Our items were delivered moldy/water damage. Half of our furniture and equipment had to be thrown away. Mover went into attic and fell through ceiling. Manager advised we would have to repair and they would reimburse. Never saw a penny...calls were declined after years of attempts. I finally gave up.

**please do not use if you're moving out of state **

They made an exciting move a living nightmare

Long-distance move from Miami, FL to San Francisco, CA

Classic bait and switch, avoid!!!!

Had to move across the country, and after being called by 20 different moving companies, Steve was the first friendly face I encountered. His price was $2k, around 30% cheaper than the rest of the moving companies. Therefore, I immediately said yes and gave a $400 deposit for my move. Excited that I had finally solved the moving problem, I waited for movers to show up two weeks later.

At around 2 P.M. three men show up to my apartment. The first man comes in and after glancing around for 30 seconds, states that I have double the amount of stuff from the estimate, and that it will now be $3,000. With my flight only a few days away and the movers at my apartment, I had no choice but to say yes. Additionally, I had been quoted for a full service move, now, these men wanted to charge me per stair, per elevator use, and for every 75 feet. MAKE SURE YOU READ THEIR SCUMMY CONTRACT AS THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!!!! THEIR CONTRACT IS MADE TO CHARGE YOU FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE YOU WILL GET IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Finally, after they take my stuff away, the main man harasses me for a tip. He continues to say 'make sure you take care of us, make sure, make sure, etc.' Afraid my stuff will not arrive safely, I give each of the 3 of them, $40. Absolute scumbags.

Then, I call Steve, tell him that my $2k move is now $3k and that I was harassed for a tip. Steve says that it isn't ok, and that he will look into it. However, he is just a salesman, and there is nothing he can do.

So, I bite the bullet and pray that my stuff will make it. Two weeks later, I get a call that my belongings will arrive on a Wednesday. Wednesday morning, I get a call stating that the truck is broken, and that it will be Friday. So, I book another two nights in a hotel ($300). Friday morning, I get another call stating that it will be closer to Sunday. I book another night in a hotel ($150), and take the loss.

Saturday comes around and I call to see what time they are going to arrive so I can plan accordingly. After speaking to the truck driver, he states that his 18-wheeler will not fit on my street and that it will not make it up the small hill to me. So therefore, I have to pay for a 'shuttle service.' I had assumed that my 'full service' move meant that they had taken into account where they we're delivering the goods. So now, I am told it is going to be another $400-800 depending on the U-haul they have to rent. I am in awe that my $2,000 move had now become over $4,000. If I knew that was going to be the case, I would've sold my belongings and bought new furniture.

So, I decide to call the front office, (30 minutes of being transferred around to speak with someone). Man answers, is completely and utterly rude, and essentially tells me that he doesn't want to be working on a Sunday anyway and that he cannot help me. I tell him that it is illegal that they did a bait-and-switch and he tells me to take them to court then (which I'm sure people do often). Finally, I tell him I own a marketing company and that I am going to make sure reviews go out whether they do a great or a terrible job. He speaks to his boss finally, and the boss says, if you're willing to put out good reviews for us and bring us business, we will take care of the cost of the shuttle. I say fine, and we agree.

I get a call the next morning, the day that belongings are supposed to arrive, and the driver (who is contracted, does not work for RoadRunner), states that there is no way the shuttle will be covered, and that I will have to pay for it. I call RoadRunner back, and the man answers and basically says you either pay it or you don't get your stuff, despite agreeing to cover it the day prior. I spend hours looking for the business owners name after being hung up on by every person in the company. And finally, I say to myself that I need to get my belongings that are being held hostage, so I say bring my stuff and I will pay for it.

They deliver my belongings that Monday, I give them the remaining amount of money (cash of course, because they know everyone would dispute if it was anything but). So, here I am, screwed out of $4,000 for a $2,000 move. Everyone at RoadRunner are scumbags and should not be allowed to operate a business. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ROAD RUNNER MOVING. THEY WILL BAIT AND SWITCH YOU AND CHARGE YOU DOUBLE!!!! I will be following up with small-claims court, and taking any route I can to get my money back.

Long-distance move from Virginia Beach, VA to Anna, TX

Interstate VA to TX.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Their whole set up is a scam from the salesman to packers and delivery drivers. They lost a whole sectional and they items I received were severely damaged.
I have filed a claim but based on my experience so far that will be a long drawn out process with little to no resolution on my favor.
My goal is to reach as many as I can to help ensure no one else has to go through this process.

Long-distance move from West Palm Beach, FL to Bel Air, MD

Horrible Company.

I have moved a lot and used a lot of moving companies. We moved cross country from Florida to Maryland. 100% Road Runner moving and storage aka real movers moving and storage has been the worst moving company I have ever had to deal with. Not only did they straight lie to me when I asked if their would be additional charges, but they broke a lot of stuff, put big gashes in the walls and showed up 8 days later then they promised and then tried to charge me an additional fee to bring the couch through the back door vs the front door. In addition they had the laziest team I have ever met, straight up did not want to do anything. My husband had to force them to get things situated in the new home. The manager Mike Miller didn't even try to make the situation better, worse customer service. How can you care so little about your customers satisfaction. Where is your integrity?? I felt like it was torture through the entire process! Very disappointed for spending over 4k and getting this horrible of service!

Long-distance move from Land O' Lakes, FL to Florence, SC

I would't trust the positive reviews - this is the worst company in th.

Just moved from FL to SC and used Road Runner because they had the best price.. But they provided by far the worst customer experience ever. Consider this:
- The grossly underestimated our truck size and told us on moving day that we need to pay thousands more for a second truck - I now believe from my experience and reading other reviews that is part of their business plan - underestimate, provide the best price and then upcharge the customer on moving day when they have all the leverage. One of the workers even said this truck if for a three bedroom home - we had a six bedroom house.
- No promises were kept like emptying the drawers, wrapping the mattresses, putting protective cardboard on the edges of the furniture, and much more
- We had over $3k of damaged furniture - not just dings and scratches but broken wood (thick wood), severely dented metal items, bent steel on our bikes, and more. The force required for some of this damage is remarkable - it was like they literally tried to brake stuff. I have all the pictures to prove this.
- We had over $1k of missing items including a brand new flat screen TV, all of the slats for our beds, and several boxes of kitchen goods.
- On delivery day the crew chief demanded we pay the balance which was over $3k in cash even though our agreement clearly says we can provide a money order - He threatened over the course of several hours to leave with our stuff if we didn't pay cash - it was too the point of feeling intimated and bullied. What company demands $3k in cash and why??
- Also on deliver day, they refused to take the boxes to their designated rooms although that was another promised service. They just shoved everything into our downstairs rooms - it took hours to get everything into their rooms.
-All calls to the company were met with sarcasm, rudeness and zero care. They said disgraceful things to my wife to the point of tears.
-And of course their process for requesting reimbursement is ridiculous - but we've jumped through every hoop and are getting zero response.

Long-distance move from Clearwater, FL to Cincinnati, OH

Atrocious service.

If I could give s score lower than 1 I would. No matter how many positive reviews they have do not trust them. I was told 1 price for everything and made sure I provided a detailed list but then they wanted $1200 more and made me dump things. They pack the boxes in such a way just to take up space. They took things I asked them not to and refused to take them off the truck. They dumped everything in the living room when they got to my new place and refused to put it where it belongs. Most of my stuff was either damaged or missing. Save yourself the grief and aggravation and go with someone else.

Relocation specialist Chris and the dispatch team where very helpfull evey step of the way. The movers showed up in the morning and had the whole house packed and ready to go within a few hours. When I recieved my belongings in New York 3 days later everything was in excellent shape. I strongly recomend Road Runner moving and storage for anyone moving long distance.

Long-distance move from Miami, FL to New York, NY

White glove five star service.

I must say I am very happy with the moving service road runner moving and storage provided me. The were able to move my items from Miami Fl to New York fast and professional. Alex was a huge help through out the entire moving process. He was able to provide with a accurate estimate and get move moved with in five days. Road runner moving and storage price was a little hire but this was because of the extra space they reserved for my items. The price stayed the same and nothing got damaged. I am very happy with the service they provided me. Andy my formen did an amazing job packing all of my items I was externally imprsssed.

I have moved befor and I had the entire opposite experince. I was not expecting good service so they really took me by surprise. I defiantly will be calling this moving company again if I have have a reason to move. If you are looking for a good company to work with call road runner they will do a fantastic job with fast service. They were up front about everything. Give Alex a call he will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy and he meets all of your moving needs!
