Shame on me for falling for this scam! AKA Community Movers of Poughkeepsie. David came to our home for a quote, bringing Italian bread, and having a nice conversation with my husband and I. Even showed us his World Series ring that Doc Gooden supposedly gave him. On moving day, showed up late and wanted to charge $$ more for packing my marble base coffee table in addition for wanting more $$ for packing materials.
They left my dining room a mess. Truck did not arrive at our new home until days after promised, wanting a cash payment before unloading. There were water stains on the bottom of my leather furniture and a chip missing from the bottom of my marble base and a leg broken on the end table. They obviously left the furniture in the rain while unloading other customers. I would like to report them to the Attorney General, but feel that it would go no where. Still holding on to my original paperwork.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $1200

Stay away do not use this company read every review on this company and I can tell you 100% that they are thieves and scammers.
We were given quotes which the day of the move increased by $ 1000.00, we were loaded and had to go.
Anthony and company are all con artist bringing bread to your house and playing on your good nature. My family is an Italian family and we welcome all that come to our home and we did to all of this crew, they promised tv boxes and wardrobe boxes they had none. They destroyed our televisions and they claimed to have insurance which they don’t.
There trucks are not theirs they have rentals and as all the other reviews they showed up 3 hours late and had a staff that could not do the work.
I cannot believe the CON that they pulled off but now reading the reviews I will be contacting Law Enforcement and the Better business bureau.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

Kevin shows up at our home in Tarrytown to give us a quote. He was incredibly nice and brought bread and some pastries for us. He gave us a quote of 600 for our short move about 10 mins away from our current address. A day later Kevin call me back asking if it was possible to move us a day earlier, which ended up working well for our landlord and new housing. Upon the moving day he was supposed to show up between 1 - 2 pm, however I revived a call at 1:30 from a random employee not Kevin telling me that they would not be able to show up to some time after 6pm. This put us in a terrible spot as our new place has time constraints and our our house was scheduled to be moved into later that day for new tenants. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANTY THEY ARE A SCAMM. We are still trying to revive our deposit back.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $600

A person (Kevin or Vic) came to our place in Beacon to do an estimate and quoted 600 for the job. He brought in bread and sausage to show how kind he was. People this is all a scam!! After that visit the guy disappeared and was not able to talk to him during the moving date or after. So watch out! The guy comes in, he is charming, he brings you a treat, he makes it seems like is a piece of cake and if you fall for it you are really going to pay almost 3 times the estimate. The dude, which he pretends to be an ex-cop (probably a corrupted one) bates you, he underestimates the truck size (obviously it was too short) and guess what we ended up paying 1700 dollars!! The bill was shown to us when the truck was full and at that point we were stranded, we had to leave the place so we had no choice. To make things even messier on the day of the move they demanded in cash or money order which was a big problem to withdrawn such large sum on ATMs, so they slowed the labor till we had paid them upfront etc. etc. CROOKS, SCAMMERS, CRIMINALS.
