They are good.

They are good. I used them for my recent move and they did it. They are honest and they are strong. They work hard to move my 3 bedroom house and it done perfectly. If I need moving company again I will use them.

You WILL regret hiring. The ABSOLUTE WORST!

I have used many movers in the past and never had any problems. This was a horror show of a move. The amount of broken furniture as well as stolen or missing is shocking. Stay away!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $7000

Official company response

Ms. Semyrog:

I am sorry that your move did not meet expectations. After completing our due diligence we have found the following:
• It appears you had an excellent relocation team assigned.
• Although we certainly prefer to have no damage associated with any relocation that we perform, there were 4 items claimed; all of which were settled as per your valuation selection.
• With respect to your unfounded accusation of “theft” we can say with certainty that the very experienced move team did not steal either your water bottles or your tool bucket (we have plenty of both).
In researching this matter it appears that, perhaps, your frustration stemmed from the fact that your plans kept changing (presumably through no fault of yours). This included a cancelation the night before your scheduled delivery and after your items had already been loaded onto the truck (which we had to charge for).

We wish you the best in your new residence and again, apologize that this was not a good experience for you.

Fantastic Move.

Olympia was a fantastic experience, they went above and beyond. They showed up on time packed everything very quickly and very well. Everything was delivered on time, and nothing was broken or missing. The movers were very knowledgeable and courteous. They made not damaging not only the items they were moving but the walls carpets and the house a priority. They had no problem rearranging the room if I wasn’t happy with the original layout. I have used other movers in the past and have been over changed or had many of my items broken thanks to Olympia that is a thing of the past (also they have had the best price time and time again). I will continue to use their services and recommend them to anyone I know who will be moving. .

Outstanding.

Ryan made a point to be proactive and connected in all phases of my move. He was professional, courteous and made me feel that all my moving anxieties were covered and in very capable hands. Al and his two crew members (sorry already forgot their names but thankfully they were young and handled the cardio workout with ease and smiles!) were very efficient and professional. Moving is not easy and even though you THINK you have properly prepared, you never really are. They took pieces apart prior to moving and made sure to put back once moved to new destinations. They were careful and worked tirelessly until the job was done. I can't say enough!!

Service cost: $1600

Olympia Moving and Storage - A Rare Find.

This is the company you want if you have a move in your future!  Both the crew and salespeople were courteous, professional, and focused on customer service throughout our moving experience. They worked quickly and were able to accomplish the nearly impossible - hoisting a large armoire which would not go up the staircase of our new house.   The Crew assigned to my project was extraordinary.  Not only were they strong and careful with my antique furniture, they were actually fun to work with. And, very reasonably priced!  Don't hesitate.  Call them now.      .

Service cost: $3000

Official company response

Juliana, thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review. Ryan, Freddy, Marian, Mihai, and Sergiu were delighted to read your comments and said that you were great to work with.

Feel free to reach out to Ryan if you need anything else.

Olympia Moving & Storage.

We had a great experience with Olympia Moving! From the very beginning when we made the call to moving day, everyone we had contact with was professional and courteous. They came to the house to see what we would be needing to move before giving us an estimate and it actually ended up being almost half of that quote! We had called a few places to get estimates and Olympia quoted us half of what the other companies did and no one else even bothered to come to see how much needed to be moved before giving us quotes. I would definately recommend Olympia to my family and friends and will call them again in the future. I work with a couple girls that are going to be moving and I have already told them to call Olympia! Thank you very much for such a great experience!

Truly professional movers.

They were prompt, professional and personable. They listened and followed instructions and gave good advice.

They worked fast and did not try to run up the bill.

The home office, although responsive, was not quite as good. I called multiple times the day before the move and once it just rang off the hook. They did answer once and called me back too, but it was frustrating.

The company is also very active in charitable causes and that means a lot to me.

Thank you as well for the feedback on responsiveness, we are adding additional staff members to provide our customers with the level of communication they deserve. We hope you enjoy your new home!

Long-distance move from Arlington, VA to The Villages, FL

You never think you are going to be held hostage by a mover?

Olympia is the absolute worst!! Once they picked up our things at several different locations in Virginia and we had already left for Florida, they informed us that they could not deliver all of our things. We asked every day for a solid week and could not get any information. Today, they told us that it would be another full week before they could deliver. To make matters worse, since we thought everything would be delivered at the same time, we put my diabetic supplies on the truck, thinking they would arrive in a timely manner. Now, my diabetic sensor (CGM) stopped working and I have no options for another week. You always hear horror stories about movers and never think you will be the target..think again!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $22000

Official company response

Thank you for speaking with us on Friday evening and again on Monday for a follow up call. We offered to search through the remaining items to locate a box of medical supplies and overnight it, but was told there was a temporary solution in place. As we discussed, over the weekend we were able to secure a dedicated truck and loaded the shipment on Tuesday with an ETA of Thursday. We certainly appreciate that all the items not fitting on the initial truck is very frustrating. However, we had a dedicated trailer for this move, and after items were added to the shipment, we notified you of the possibility that everything might not fit. It is the busiest time of year to move, so unfortunately it is more difficult to quickly assign an additional driver who is not already allocated to a client. This said, the communication around this matter could and should have been better and we would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience associated with the delay.

Sincerely,
Piet Gauchat
President.

The day the music died.

Prepare to be screwed, both literally and figuratively. When interviewing movers, we were assured in writing by Olympia General Manager, Ryan Hegarty, that shipping our grand piano was "something we can handle ourselves, thus does not require a specialist." Ryan went on to promise that "when it comes to a prized piece, such as your piano, it is on us to ensure we equip our teams with the proper knowledge and equipment in order to complete the move in the best manner." Fast forward to loading day, when the moving team arrived lacking knowledge about the specific requirements associated with transporting our piano, which did not instill confidence in their ability to perform the job correctly. The real piece de resistance came on unloading day. While sliding the piano off the piano board, multiple exposed screw heads tore through the piano's veneer and underlying wood substrate, creating a half dozen large pock marks and linear gouges, a devastating experience Ryan merely termed "unfortunate." Although Olympia repeatedly acknowledged that the damage occurred while in their care, they've otherwise accepted no accountability for their faulty equipment or negligence. Their proposed remedy was to offer us $300 towards a nearly $5,000 repair estimate. Learn from our mistake, and do not trust them with moving your valuables.

Official company response

The basic facts of this case are not disputed by Olympia or the client:

• The piano was damaged while in the care and custody of Olympia Moving and the result of an equipment issue.
• The client signed for the state mandated minimum valuation coverage after being fully apprised of their options.
• The claim was settled as per the valuation option selected by the client.
• An additional customer service adjustment was offered to the client as a good faith gesture and in an effort to address the client’s concerns.

From the company’s perspective, and in reference to the specific points offered up by the client:
a) We concur that the sales representative (appropriately) asserted that Olympia moves pianos on a regular basis and maintains the equipment and expertise to do so.
b) Despite the fact that we move more than a thousand pianos on an annual basis, the humidifier the client referenced is atypical, and therefore not reflective of a lack of experience.
c) The foreman has more than a decade of experience, has moved hundreds of pianos and an exceptional track record.
d) There is consensus that the cause of the damage was two screws that had pulled loose from the carpeting on the surface of the piano board (a piece of industry standard piano moving equipment). The screws were not immediately visible to the crew at the time of loading.

The client concurs that they made a coverage selection with a full understanding of the implications. The coverage options are mandated by both state and federal regulation and are designed specifically to address a damage claim stemming from human error or equipment failure.

Understandably the client was upset with the resolution; given that the settlement does not cover the cost of repairs. This said, the settlement offer was as per the valuation option selected by the client.

To be clear, Olympia takes these matters very seriously. Subsequent to the move the client continued to escalate his concerns and spoke with the Claims Manager, The Branch General Manager, The President and then the Founder/CEO of Olympia. During this escalation process, and in a good faith effort, a substantial customer service adjustment was offered to the client. While this settlement would not have covered the entirety of the claim, the company has certainly gone above and beyond it’s legal and contractual obligations in an attempt to resolve this matter.

Moving Company.

I could not have asked for a better crew~  This was a 2 part move and fortunately I had the same guys for both parts. They were on time, friendly, explained and questioned as needed, and worked nonstop. Dan was a fantastic manager and communicated well with me and the 2 workers. Wonderful job and crew! They deserve special recognition for 2 smooth moves! .
