Although the initial contact seemed professional, clear and certainly competitively priced, my experience rapidly deteriorated into a mess.

Originally, I booked the pickup for Monday. That had to be altered later as the person with whom I was dealing, L. Worthington, forgot that it was a public holiday. Not a big deal, in and of itself but a foretaste of further problems resulting, in my opinion, from a lack of focus and follow-through by that agent and her colleagues.

Upon receipt of the raft of initial documentation (booking confirmation, supplemental declaration, Customs Inventory, USCF 3299 Declaration for Free Entry, Power of Attorney, importer security filing, overseas removal valuation form, insurance, packing instructions, terms and conditions) and later, the packing list and package labels, I was disappointed and frustrated to discover that the pre-filled information was completely wrong in several areas. The delivery address was wrong; the delivery telephone number was truncated, rendering it useless; the shipper’s name was wrong; the shipper’s telephone number was wrong. In addition to sending descriptions of the problems and the corrected information I also asked that the courier be contacted to obtain a more specific timeframe for pickup: it was a work day and I had been informed the pickup would be between 9 and 5. I was told that was not possible. Later, however, I was informed differently (after the pickup occurred) by another of her colleagues that in fact that option was available – at an elevated cost. Of course. I was sent new, supposedly amended package labels. They were for a Romanian colonel -- the Defense, Military, Air and Naval Attaché who was sending something to the Romanian Consulate in Washington, DC! I never did get new labels but manually altered the original ones with the corrected information.

Meanwhile I had asked that all mail be copied to the person who was shipping my belongings: that request was either completely ignored or – like so much else – lost and forgotten. Finally, as things seemed to be getting out of hand and with a long weekend approaching, I suggested that we postpone the pickup in order to ensure that everything was in order and correct. At 17:15 on the Friday evening before the holiday weekend, Worthington sent an email to me asking that I contact her by 17:30 to confirm the new pickup. And, of course, that I would be charged an additional fifty pounds to accommodate her mess and unresolved mistakes at the last minute.

I received no apology for any of this from Worthington, nor her manager, James Mallet – the director of sales whom I involved towards the end. What I did receive from him was a rejection of my complaints, implying me as a cause of Worthington’s inadequacies and a thinly concealed threat of legal action were I to publish any comment adverse to the interests of MoveCorp. Perhaps in addition to an obvious unfamiliarity with customer service practices and efficient business management procedures, MoveCorp would also seem embrace a lack of understanding of the implications of living in society in which I am entitled and encouraged to express my opinion.

I have had a terrible experience with movecorp and would definitely not recommend!
No problem with the pick up and payment. We were promised delivery within 6-8 weeks. During this time there was zero communications or news with any updates. Over 2 months later now I am told that there has been a paperwork issue and our things are still en route! No explanation why nor offer of partial refund.
I made a number of requests to escalate my issue and I was never given a person or contact to escalate my issue to get an answer or resolve.
I would avoid Movecorp in the future and not recommend anyone to use their services.

If I could give 0 star's I would, I read the reviews before booking and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, I wish I hadn't, they lied bare face to get my £5,821, and to prove they lied bare face, the Removals Industry Ombudsman found in my favour and MoveCorp refused to engage with him or pay the compensation he awarded, if I could post his finding hear I would. we paid and requested our container be shipped from the UK to the USA unopened ( the caveat being US Customs. US Customs did not inspect our container ) so a door to door service which they guaranteed, it was a lie, the cargo company in the USA where never paid to transport our container to our door that would have cost MoveCorp more of the money we paid them, they where only paid to unload our property from the container to their warehouse and then by road to our house in Arizona. a lot of our property was damaged and we had to claim on our own insurance, they charge three times as much if you use their insurance.
You have to bear in mind companies like MoveCorp are not looking for repeat custom, your leaving the country and as such will no longer be a problem to them,
Overall I would avoid like the plague, but if you do have any problems, do what I did and contact one of the Ombudsmen.
