Useless!

8 months and I still waiting for 6 boxes to be delivered in Australia
it was supposed to be delivered late June after many phone calls and e mails, I found out than everything was still in England. the company is now under administration so I had to organise and pay somebody else to take over the shipping, the new company find out that the paperwork was n t done properly, I had to pay and extra $ 900, total nightmare and so costly.

Long-distance move from Cambridge, Cambridgeshire to Bristol, Bristol

Would highly recommend.

First of all, I just wanted to personally commend you, Kate and all the members involved for your absolutely fantastic teamwork, professionalism and responsiveness!
From the very beginning, while I was quoting numerous moving companies, you were by far the quickest to provide me with a realistic estimate, which turned out to be an unbeatable price in comparison with your competitors.
As for the delivery on the 1st of November In Bristol, it went impeccably well, what is more with a very friendly crew. I am very pleased to report no damage whatsoever to my belongings nor any missing item, so thankfully no insurance claims will have to be filed. Most notably, the brand new bike I bought just before the removal arrived in pristine condition! Great job!

Long-distance move from Southampton, Hampshire to Southampton, Hampshire

A Bad move, but clearly all my own fault.

We were initially very disappointed following the delivery of our belongings to our house in Greece, and I wrote to Movecorp to complain.
There were a number of reasons for our disappointment, including damaged and soiling to furniture that had been in previously very good condition, delays in transit, misinformation as to the reasons and the timescales of those delays, and mal-loading of the original container leading to extra unnecessary charges for moving the “overflow” of our goods. (amongst others)
I am so very grateful that Mr James Mallett, the sales director of the company, was able to take time out his busy executive schedule to telephone me and put me right on these matters.
I now know that all of the matters raised were not the responsibility of Movecorp, but were indeed all MY fault.
Mr Mallett explained that as I had no experience of an international move any previous learning from an in domestic move was void and that I should have taken proper precautions with my furniture and goods by wrapping them to protect them from poor handling and dirty environments. He even went on to say, and I will quote his exact words, as they are such wise pearls of wisdom “We use filthy containers all the time, as they go round and round the world getting dirty”. How incredibly foolish of me to have considered that, as this was an international move, Movecorp was not bound by the same “duty of care” that I had received during previous domestic moves.
Mr Mallett was also took great pains to explain that he and he and his staff were professional people, and that as far as estimating the cubic capacity of my own goods I was a “complete amateur”. So it was clearly my fault again that my goods did not all fit into the one container. Clearly my suggestions to re-pack metal storage cupboards with items once they had been placed on board were ignored due to my complete lack of professionalism in the matter. And it was again entirely my fault that furniture items which we had previously told the packers could be left till last and only loaded if there was space , were allowed (by us) to be loaded early in the day, thus taking up valuable space that I, obviously so wrongly, thought could have been used for more pressing items. Clearly we were mistaken in our assumption that the professional packers had cast their experienced eyes over our goods and chattels and estimated that they would all fit into the container.
Mr Mallett did not comment on my concerns about having been fed wrong information about the transit of the container, even though I assured him I had proof that somewhere down the line we had received information that was untrue!
At this stage I was beginning to understand how wrong I had been over the whole matter, but I could not yet bring myself reconcile how I could still feel so bad about the whole episode, so I attempted to play my final trump card in the hope that this one would not be a boomerang like all the others. I had seen on the Movecorp website the proud boast that “they hope that everyone receives an excellent service” (it was one of the reasons I chose the company in the first place) and when I attempted to raise this with Mr Mallett he said (and again I quote the exact words spoken, as I was taking notes at the time because I did not want to miss out on any of the erudite, caring and customer friendly reposts) “That I had not paid for the excellent service” Oh silly me, wrong again.
As a final note Mr Mallett declined my request for him to put his points to me in writing, I cannot understand why he should do this, as everything that he said stirred my heart, and he was clearly very proud of the work that had been carried out, and the considerable amount of my hard earned cash he had liberated in the process. He did however take some considerable time to point out to me that the company has a full list of terms and conditions including a section on “bad mouthing the company on social media” (again the exact words used) he also used the words “slander and libel”
However I have absolutely nothing to fear as every word I have written here is truth!
However with my track record for getting things wrong so far..
PS. Removal was to Greece, but drop down menu does not include this location.

Terrible Service!

Avoid this company like the plague!! It took 6 months to receive our items after being promised an 8-10 week delivery. Initially 6 out of 7 boxes were LOST, only to be found 5 months later in their warehouse. When they finally arrived, the boxes were trashed, items broken and missing/stolen. I contacted them regarding our broken/missing items only to now be ignored!! This is NOT OK. This company is just awful. Do not use them!!

Loss, Damage, Settlement.

Movecorp of Walsall you may have read created confusion, loss and damage for me and my goods coming from Italy.
They would accept no responsibility and denied just about everything.
We sued them and the statements provided by the company were somewhat evasive, they mentioned various records, work, collection and delivery sheets and photographs. Strangely, none of their sworn statements could be backed by evidence.
Movecorp attempted to frighten me by claiming that the defence of my claim would cost £25,000, which I would have to pay if the case went against me.
In the end the court ruled in my favour as the whole defence was based on falsehoods and wishful thinking. They were ordered to pay my claim and my costs.
Legal fees alone, their £25,000 and my £7,000, must have hurt, £32,000 in all plus my award.
Do not use this company.

Don't touch them with a barge pole.

The most shocking customer service I have ever received. I had paid £888 for a partial shipment from UK-Brittany, France. We were not told what day it would be delivered despite us making it very clear we needed a few days notice as we are not based in France and needed to arrange someone to be at the house. A couple HOURS before the delivery we were called by the driver to say he was almost there. We complained to movecorp and dealt with James Mallett who I can only describe as rude and aggressive. He told me that they don't record their phone calls so it was no use trying to escalate the matter further and to quote him "if you give us a bad review we won't pay you a penny of compensation". They take no responsibility for the poor service they offer and we will most certainly not use them again. Please use another company and don't go near movecorp.

International move from Blackburn, Lancashire to Verona, Veneto

Transport of boxes UK to Northern Italy.

I had several boxes moved from Lancashire to the Province of Mantova in Italy. The payment & pick up went ok.The problems were @ the Italian end, where inexplicably the Italian company who were doing the final delivery changed the post code on the address to a post code for the City of Mantova & then said they couldn't find they address they had put on the boxes.Following a phone call from my Son, who was the recipient, they changed the address on one box & delivered it.Following several E-Mails to movecorp we finally got the rest of the boxes correctly re-addressed.The remaining boxes were then delivered over a two week period in three seperate deliveries although the final two boxes were @ one point lost.We were basically asked by Movecorp to prove that we didn't have the two outstanding boxes because the tracking system showed them to have already been delivered. This subsequently turned out to be erroneous, because the boxes were found & delivered about a week after they first claimed they had delivered them. They were extremely badly damged, although the contents were ok as they were not delicate items.Movecorp only acted as a post box, they had subcontracted the delivery to DPD,who in turn had subcontracted to an Italian company,BRT.Movecorp basically passed on information requests from DPD,requesting information on box sizes, contents, value of goods, even though some of the information was already in their possession. To get our final delivery we had to identify by box code consignment the two missing boxes for movecorp, they seem to have no idea which ones were missing.Overall a very poor experience & I certainly would not use Movecorp again.

Unacceptable.

I moved Uk ,(Bedford) by the end of June to leave in Thailand.(no option to fill the right destination on the questionnaire)My belonging were pick up by middle of June and I'm still waiting for them. cutting long story in short, after 6 weeks being in Thailand myself I was promised that it would be arriving by the 19th of August In the port at Bangkok. 2 weeks later, not having any phone call or updates I've decided to investigated with my team to find out that the goods never left Uk!! After me chasing for some updates this afternoon, I received an explanation like my "belongings did not fit at the time" "there due to be loading by the end of this week" "will give you a firm delivery date".. I'm very very disappointed about this full experience and I hope that my goods are safe and in good conditions,I'm glad I've insured my goods. I never complaint about anything but this is just too much, and if I would be the person in charge I would like to know about it in order to improve certain area and avoid this to happen to others. Long-distance move from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire to Coventry, Warwickshire

Great job.

We have just moved from Aberdeen to Coventry and used Movecorp on the advice of a work colleague and friend who used them for the same move. When I contacted them I mentioned the move they had done and told them that both pick up and drop off properties were the same as we had rented the same properties in Aberdeen and bought the same new properties in Coventry. This made the quote easy for them and it matched my friends so I was happy as well. On the day of the move two vans and four guys arrived bright and early and by 8.00 on the night they had finished and we were sitting down having a coffee. Great job safely carried out and much recommended.
