Flawless International Move Experience!

This was, by far, our very best customer service experience ever. International Sea & Air Shipping handled our move with care and excellence from Day One until the last day (today) when our items arrived and were carefully loaded into our storage unit. When another company provided no advance information regarding our upcoming move from the U.S. to Ireland, we went with our gut and tried International Sea & Air Shipping. It was a very last-minute decision, but International Sea & Air was the best choice we could have made. They assigned a person to our move (Jeanine) who helped us every step of the way to answer questions and coordinate with the many other people connected to our move including the movers on the U.S. side, the company that was in charge of clearing our belongings into Ireland (a very complex process which again was handled flawlessly), and the movers in Ireland. My husband and I are so very impressed with International Sea & Air Shipping, and we thank them all for being there for us and providing exceptional service. Relocating to another country is extremely stressful, but this company made the moving part a breeze.

International move from , BEG to Knoxville, TN

Moving from Belgium to USA.

I signed a contract for a 5 week door-to door shipping from Belgium to Knoxville (USA). It took 9 weeks! My furnitures stayed in a container for 4 weeks once they arrived to the USA, while I live at 10 hours by car from the port in New York. I had to threaten them so that someone finally answers my e-mails to know why things were taking so much time. Janice Strianese, which was supposed to be my contact, never answered any e-mails or phone calls. She was just good at sending me bills. This person is rude and absolutely useless. When I finally managed to get into contact with someone, they told me my furnitures were in Knoxville and that they were waiting to have them released by the ECU. 2 days later they told me that actually my furnitures were in Atlanta (real joke). They told me the actual time of delivery at my place 12 hours before it was supposed to happen (really easy when you are working ..) and I was warned that if the delivery could not happen the day they offered it I will have to pay added charges for the storage.

AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! Would not recommend to anyone with a busy schedule, absolutely not reliable.

Official company response

This consumer is not our customer and does not have any contract with our company.

His contract was with our agent in Belgium that consign his shipment to us for custom clearance and delivery only.
International Sea & Air Shipping has nothing to do with the shipping methods and transit time. This review is misleading and provides false accusations.

International move - The Netherlands to USA.

I am very happy with the support Boaz Aviani's team at International Sea & Air Shipping provided with moving all my furniture from Amsterdam - The Netherlands to West-Hartford in Connecticut USA. The door-to-door process took about 4.5 weeks. The process started with a survey in the Netherlands to assess the size of the container required for the move. A few days later the move got scheduled and a professional team of movers wrapped the complete household on day one and moved all of the items on day two. The 40ft container was fully packed at the end of day two. About 4.5 weeks later at my new home in the USA, another team of movers were unloading the same container and moving my furniture inside the house. The sealing of the container in the Netherlands and cutting that seal in the USA were taken very serious by both teams of movers. I highly recommend using International Sea & Air Shipping for any domestic or international move. THANK YOU BOAZ!

International move from New York, NY to , Grand Est

Moving from NYC to France.

Due to the Covid Situation I had to move quickly from NYC back to France and organized a moving with Onternational Sea and Air Shipping. On the day of picking up my belongings, my AirPod disappeared. I was using them 5 minutes before arrival of the moving company. However the moving company agreed to reimburse me with those .

At the arrival of my belonging (after 2 months of waiting) I had the surprise to see that my TV was fully destroyed (even if packed in a TV Box and protected) .

A complete JOKE ! I would not recommend this moving company at all!!

Trustworthy and personable

We needed a trustworthy and personable service to handle shipping sentimental family heirlooms from Florida to London in the middle of a pandemic. This was a very emotional transitional period for the MIL living alone and in poor health so not being able to be there to help and oversee the move was very difficult.

We researched extensively using Trustpilot and asked friends for recommendations. We were nervous.

International Movers were excellent throughout. They have a FB page which we liked and Hillary, our liaison manager, contacted us directly and settled our nerves immediately with her confident and straightforward talking. Jeannine handled our fees efficiently and in a timely manner and Daniel handled import and delivery. The whole team made us feel personally cared for and at ease answering every stupid question really quickly and often during holiday periods.

The delivery went smoothly. Every precious item arrived safely.

We can’t recommend these guys enough. Don’t look any further just make contact with Hillary now and relax.

Breezy Pandemic Move

International Air and Shipping helped me move belongings from the USA to the UK during the pandemic. It was a daunting move as I did not have a final address and had to return to AUS briefly between pick up and delivery. However, it was relatively stress free as everyone involved was professional, knowledgeable, communicative and kind. Highly recommended!

Smooth Move

Moved a partial container from San Juan to Cordova, Alabama. Response was quick after my first contact with the company. They were very courteous and friendly by phone and in mails. I never had to wonder about the status of my items, as I was kept apprised at all times. The packers that chose did a splendid job of encasing my precious Spanish 19th century antiques, which included mirror and glass shelving. The deliverers were courteous and careful. I was thoroughly satisfied with the entire process. If I could give them six stars I would.

Lost half of our things, overcharged by 6K

If I could give them 0 stars or minus I would. This is the most dishonest, incompetent moving company I have ever hired.

I called in July to get a quote for a 20 foot container traveling from the US to Costa Rica. Spoke with Ami Oded who seemed very professional and got back to me very quickly. As I knew there were a lot of extra costs added to the shipment quote later, I asked for his opinion on how much those extra fees could go for a household move. He refused to tell over email and eventually told me over the phone that it could be a few hundred dollars extra (really wish I had that in writing). I said that sounds great and booked the shipment. We were quoted just under 6k and figured we could afford to go a little higher. Also we were expecting some delays due to the pandemic and were not too worried about timing. A couple of weeks later we start receiving more invoices for around 2k each, for various things: for customs inspections both in the US and in Costa Rica, for taxes, for other port fees. To the point where we had payed double the initial quote, around 12k total, and we have not even received any of our things. After the shipment got to Costa Rica we were passed on to a local moving company and we never heard back from International Sea and Air Shipping. We found out the inventory they had prepared was done wrong so the customs in Costa Rica would only release part of the shipment in September. Here we are in December, almost 6 months after I have hired these people, and have lost half of our things because the customs refuse to release them due to the flawed inventory International Sea and Air Shipping had prepared. Do not trust them with your belongings or your money, they are fraudulent company and they know what they are doing to people.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $12000

Official company response

We very much sympathize with your situation. However, your accusations are inaccurate and misleading. We do not have any control over Customs, port authorities, government, and border control.

As you are well aware, your container was pulled for inspection by CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Patrol) at the port of exit in Long Beach CA, as well as by Costa Rican Customs at destination. The examination conducted on your container led to the delays and additional charges you referenced.
Our shipping agreements cannot include or foresee charges resulting from a U.S. Customs exam, as this is a random selection process which we have absolutely no control over. This is why we clearly indicate in our contract that the price does not include Custom Inspection, Storage and Demurrage charges, Port charges, and import taxes if applicable.

On July 27: We loaded your items into a container and transported it from your residence to Long Beach terminal for export.
On July 29: We received notification that your container was placed on hold by U.S. Customs and informed you on this same day. We Indicated that additional charges would apply as determined by Customs, the steamship line, and U.S. port authorities.
On July 30: We sent you an online tracking link to the Custom Exam Site portal so you could see in real time the progress of the examination.
On August 4: We informed you that your container was still at the Customs Exam facility pending inspection.
On August 6: We informed you that the Customs Exam was complete and would confirm the associated charges.
On August 7: We informed you of the exam charges and noted additional fees would apply for demurrage at the port and terminal. You replied to acknowledge and accept the charges.
On August 11: We sent you the new shipping schedule on the next available vessel following the completion of the Customs exam. The departure date was just 6 days after the intended vessel.
On August 15: We received the final charges from the steamship line for demurrage, drayage, rollover, and gate fees. We sent you an itemized list and explanation of all the associated costs. We also sent you back-up invoices and documentation.

Regarding the packing list discrepancy: Items removed from the original packaging during the U.S. Customs inspection were not loaded back into the container in accordance with our inventory list. Unfortunately, items were loaded loose following the Customs inspection which led to increased number of packages than stated in export documentation. When your container arrived in Costa Rica, it was pulled for inspection by Costa Rican Customs at random. They identified a discrepancy in the pieces count which resulted from the reloading process at the Customs Exam facility following U.S. inspection. This was not performed by our movers or any personnel from International Sea & Air Shipping.

On September 8: We were informed of this issue by our affiliates in Costa Rica. To help resolve this matter, we worked with our agent to draft and notarize a letter to present to Costa Rican Customs.

Unfortunately, these matters are out of our hands and we did everything within our power to fulfill moving services and provide full transparency.

Again, we apologize for any inconveniences and extra expenses that you incurred, and hope you understand they did not result from wrongdoings or flawed business practices on our part.

A regretful move from USA to Greece

I regret every moment I put any trust on these people. Staring with the owner Boaz Aviani who must be the rudest person, the rest of his staff just follow his example which is rudeness and dishonesty.

If the initial quote attracted you or the many years of experience transporting peoples goods,…. At the end…. ARE NOT the cheapest. As for the many years of doing business in the industry you will be indisbelieve with their dishonesty.

The process involves more than just the people in the NY office. They hired the people to load the container and the people receiving the container and deliver the goods at the final destination. In my case, each one was a reflection of the owner Boaz. Unprofessional unskilled dishonest bullies. They hired a container that was old and filthy dirty, a company that they had no particular skills how to secure the different pieces inside the container and finally in Greece they hired Safeway Transport to receive and deliver the container. Safeway demanded 535 euros additional to what I have paid on my contract and unless I paid them upfront that money, they wouldn’t even had tried to schedule the release of my container. To my questions why they were charging so much more money (when I was told that I will only have to pay a tax no more than 300 euros) their answer was, “I need to collect what NY office is telling me”

When I contact the NY office they answered me that the charges were according to the Greek customs and port.

The fact is that ALL the charges were 243.63 euros in total.

I was there and have the receipt of everything that was to be paid to receive the container. When I requested a receipt for the remaining 347.33 euros, Safeway Transport sent me a receipt that is a general receipt issued by Cosco (the shipping company) and all of the shipping expenses were paid in the total of my contract. The receipt Safeway presented me could have been for another container or something else. No where on that receipt indicates that the charges were for the specific container which actually was recorded with a number. Boaz has failed to explain the additional 347.33 euros and ignore my request to refund the money I paid additional without any explanation. In addition, Safeway Transport charged me another 180 euros to hire a lift to take my furniture to the second floor because they were too heavy or too big for their movers to take them to the second floor. The contract however said that they will take them up to the second floor. I am asking for that 180 euros to be deducted from the total of my contract since the delivery was done in some other ways with additional cost to me. They knew the size and the weight of my furniture well before they loaded them on that container.

As for the damages were unbelievable. They were able to brake, YES BRAKE, a king size 24 inches thick mattress in half. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

They broke the base of my dining table right in front of my eyes and refuse to accept responsibility with some unbelievable excuses and tricks. When I called the lady in charge I got the bulling treatment which was very unwelcome and intimidated in a country where you don’t know everything. Very rude and unprofessional she literally threaten me that they can leave my furniture on the sidewalk if I don’t pay the extra 180 euros.

Dishonest Horrible Bullies. A legal action will be well deserved.

I only have one suggestion for you. Run! Run to another company. Read their insurance policy and coverage before you negotiate anything. Their Insurance coverage is another horrible fiasco to drain thousands of dollars out of you and actually leaving you with no coverage.

Official company response

International Sea & Air Shipping entered into an agreement on July 22, 2020 with the customer to ship her goods from Houston, TX to Porto Rafati, Greece in a 20ft container for door-to-door service not including any packing as per the customer request.
The terms of the agreement were discussed numerous times via emails correspondences and phone conversations. The customer requested and received explanations for each of the services not included in our agreement which are listed below.
THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:
1. Port charges/ Custom Duties/ Taxes If Applicable/ Custom Inspection/ Fumigation/ Quarantine/ Storage and Demurrage charges
2. Charges resulting from long distance carry, shuttle service, excessive time spent and labor disassembling / or reassembling, complicated accesses, Higher floors walk up and walk down. Parking permit If required
3. Special crating Unless specified above
On July 22, 2020, the customer acknowledged via email that she was told that the port charges are approximately 250-350 euro.
Quote.” Please give me all the taxes I will need to pay. You only have mentioned one tax to me in Greece for about 250 and 350Euros. What else I will be charged?” Unquote.
The fact is the client did not pay nor was she asked to pay, any amount above the estimated port charges that she was advised.
Our agreement is based on a delivery up to the 2nd floor with normal access (Item no 12 in the shipping agreement) “12. Delivery to residence at destination with normal access”, all her items were delivered by stairs except two items that could not fit from the stairs, so an outside elevator was used and client paid Euro 180.
As far as the damages are concerned, we did not pack the customer’s goods and therefore cannot take any responsibility.
In conclusion International Sea & Air Shipping fulfilled its obligation under the terms of the shipping agreement and does not see any reason for reimbursement.

Happy Customer

We moved from the United States to New Zealand during the COVID-19 pandemic. Niki helped us on the front end and answered all of our packing questions. Once we had a move date setup Jeanine took over. She made the process easy and straightforward. We would definitely recommend International Sea & Air Shipping to friends and family.
