Long-distance move from Florida to Massachusetts

Angry at me for 3" snow,spiteful- put bed up backwards, broke & stole.

Owner: Jimmy
Driver: Freddie
Nasty, angry driver-and movers. He would NOT give me a receipt for my cash!  I hired this company in MA to move me to Florida.
It was March 1st, with 3” of snow on the ground. They were angry at me because there was a little snow.  This is New England. They are truck drivers. This should be no problem, this is their job!
My storage facility was on the 1st floor.  The driveways were wide enough, but Freddie (the driver in charge) parked a block away because he said his 16 wheeler couldn’t make it up the hill in the snow.
It was not a hill. It was only a slight incline. I took a cab there that morning, and the driver had no problem. It was close to freezing and I had no vehicle, they told me to be there at 7:00am. I waited for them for over two hours in the cold, they arrived at 9:15am.
They parked their truck a block away, and very angrily, they carried my furniture. They did not cover my furniture. My white couch was on one guys shoulders, my recliner over another guys heads – carried uncovered to the truck like this. My white couch slid and fell on the ground, they did not cover it, they picked it up and continued walking. My light green recliner fell on the dirty snow also. They dropped many of my boxes.
It took 14 days for them to delivere my things in Florida, not the 3-5 days they promised. They charged me a high price!  Ayelet gave me one price on the phone, they raised it $400. when they picked up in MA. They lied.
The first thing Freddie said to me was, “My truck got stuck in a hole because of you. We lost 5 hours!  It will take me a year to make that money up. It will cost a thousand dollars. It’s your fault.” I got scared.
As soon as Freddie walked in the door in Florida, he asked me for the money in cash!   I made a mistake. I gave it to him!  I asked him for a receipt, and he turned around and walked out the door.
He said, “I give it to you when we finished.”  I got nervous!  I paid this guy, what if he was so mad at me because there was snow in MA that he says I didn’t pay him?  A bad situation, and I, an elderly woman, was there alone.
All my boxes were brought in crushed. But I was afraid to complain, because he could say I didn’t pay him. My bike handlebar was turned backwards, the guy tried to fix it and he damaged my brakes.
My kitchen table is badly scratched, deep scratches on both sides.
My white couch is now black on the bottom from dirt, it won’t wash off.
They brought my coffee tables in without legs, one guy said they lost the legs.
They packed my step-ladder in MA. It was missing. No explanation of where it was, just “We don’t have it”. Perhaps one of them took it home.
They set the frame to my bed up backwards. The headboard was at the front- I could fall over it.  I told them it couldn’t stay that way, that I could fall over it, it was dangerous. Two of them looked and me and walked out the door. No answer, they just left it that way.
FILTH…with every piece of furniture they brought in, there were large black balls of dust attached to them. BIG balls of dust. Their truck must have been a filth pit.
After they brought everything inside, Fredie put the receipt on the table. I asked again, PLEASE put the bed frame in the proper position. I could fall over it!
At that, they both turned around like seargents, and without a word they walked out my door. That’s the last time I saw Fredie.
Do NOT EVER HIRE this company!!   They are BAD.  I was not just screwed on the money, they are nasty and spiteful.  The service was bad, the workers were nasty, he made me wait for my receipt, and they set up my bed so I would fall over it. They were SPITEFUL. I am reporting them to the BBB, and any other agency I can find.
This company, 1st Van Lines, also called "All USA Van Lines", should not be allowed to do business. They are scabs at the bottom of the moving industry. Do NOT hire these people, they're spiteful and will damage your furniture.

Sincere and hardworking.

All was a pleasure to move with First Van Lines asthey were great, professional, and QUICK. They had their company’s logo on their uniforms which meant that they're representing the company's interests and usually work to uphold whatever company value has been set. The three guys who showed up at my door to move my things and everything did it with great efficiency and care . They seemed to be well trained and responsible for what they did
After the move I opened up all boxes without seeing anything broken and haven't seen a lick of dirt on any of the furniture. And every box was in the right room and I have nothing to complain about. I believe they are already well known and wish them all the best with their moving business. Thanks First Van Lines.

Can give them a try.

We were recommended First Van Lines through a common friend and we just moved with them last Saturday..I called their customer service department and they made their best attempt to resolve all my queries and concerns. Moving is a stressful business but these guys on the day of the move worked really hard off and were great crack in the process. No stress moving. Honestly best moving service one can ever have !! They packed our kingsize bed and swiftly moved it out of the dim lobby and all did go very smoothly. . My only concern was that due to some reason they did not accept payment thru card on that day and I had to arrange for a cashier’s cheque from my bank which caused some inconvenience otherwise their service was not bad.

Surely recommend them.

I called up First Van Lines on a a recommendation of a friend and the sales rep depart was very friendly and helpful in providing us all the knowledge we required as it was supposed to be our first move. I was very much convinced and decided to go forward and book them for the coming weekend. On the day of the move 3 man crew arrived at our doorstep just on time and started to work in coordination and made the entire moving process go with ease. They were extremely helpful, timely, and accommodating to my ever changing needs. With little direction and a buddy there to help coordinate, they boxed up all the remnants of our time and crammed it into one container. The price was right on and the service was well and exceptional. Thanks First Van Lines and I surely recommend to all those looking forward to move.
