International move from , BR to Iowa City, IA

Fastway did not deliver my belongs - 7 months so far.

We hired Fastway Moving to move our furniture from Belo Horizonte, Brazil to Iowa City, IA, USA. We paid in full for the service in advance. We asked for the insurance and they asked us to wait until the pick up was completed and the paperwork would be ready.

Items were packed and removed from our home in Brazil on 01/22/2017 by a 3rd party company on behalf of Fastway Moving while the initial contracted date was for pick up between 01/16/2017 and 01/20/2017 without any communication by Fastway Moving. After that, it was really hard to get ahold of Fastway's representatives, nobody would return our calls or provide us with the paperwork needed for shipment. Nothing has been said about the insurance anymore even though we asked for it.

On 02/16/2017, we got the paperwork and provided all the required documentation in the same day by mail.
Fastway Moving then estimated the delivery in our house in the USA by 03/15/2017. After several inquiries by phone and email and no actual response from their sales or customer services we got a new estimate for delivery between 03/25/2027 and 03/30/2017 in our house here in the US. The delivery estimate date has then changed to 04/05/2017 and later to 04/20/2017 and then to 05/08/2017. After these dates, we could only get a few contacts with their clerks and always with empty promisses and dates that were never fulfilled. No director, manager and even the sales person, Marcelo Castroviejo, awnser our inquiries.

All of our belongs are in their possession. Me and my family are hostages of this company after spending our savings to move our belongs. We feel like they stole everything we have including expensive items and priceless personal items.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Miami, FL

Absolute scum and scam.

Total scam. Everything is smooth until they get paid and then they vanish. Lost my stuff but pretended it was "in transit" for months. Then delivered it to another storage location without telling me and the other storage place destroyed everything. Couldn't reach them on the phone. Then I learned they're actually a complete fraud from another Facebook group where everyone is trying to sue them to get their stuff back. I'm so f**king pissed about those scammers. Lost over $25,000 in furniture and will be a total loss for me. F**k them.

Household Items.

We sent our small moving of 34 boxes through Teo Abreu from FASTWAY MOVING on December the 13th 2016 with promise to delivery in 90 days, but after we payed him, he NEVER more answer phone's calls, emails and text messages. The only person that "sometimes" answers phone's calls is Patricia which never knows nothing but only keep giving foolish excuses each time.
We have no idea where are our 34 boxes with our household itens and no one calls to inform anything. Our household left on the 13/12/2016 and today is 10/14/2018 NOTHING ARRIVED! We really don't know what is going.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Utah

Good until the delivery.

Fastaway was contracted to pack and move our home goods from NJ to UT.  At the time of the bid, packing and pickup, I informed them of an empty non-hazardous CO2/Argon air tank that I owned.  The tank had been shipped with my home goods from UT to Japan, Japan to NJ in the previous 4 years without any issue from the movers or customs.  They all agree it would be fine.
To clarify, this is non-hazardous, non-compressed, empty tank. After moving to Utah and after my goods were shipped from NJ to UT, I was informed via voicemail that they could not ship my tank and that it is in the warehouse in NJ for me to pick up.  I was already in UT (and had been for 6 weeks) and had no way of picking up the tank.  After contacting Derrick Strus multiple times, he informed me that they would take care of it and get it to me.  I have multiple emails of him promising me that he would take care of it, but months later, still no resolve.
They accepted the tank for shipment and after accepting the property into their possession and after we moved to UT and after 6 weeks, they informed me they could not ship the tank.  I feel like they stole my property.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma

Terrible Moving company.

I want to first say that moving is a stressful situation, and it helps to have professionals. My husband reviewed all of our items in our apartment and spoke with Derrick. We were quoted a price of about $3,000. We thought that it was expensive, but we were assured that all of our items were going to be packed safely and securely. This was supposed to cover all of the expenses: gas, labor, time, driving, etc. EVERYTHING. We were told that we could pay by cash or card. Upon the movers almost completing the pick up we are told that if we use a card there will be a 6% charge. It was a Saturday at 4:30pm there was no way I could go to a bank and pay the $3,000. That was deceiving. Also, we were told after about 3/4 of the items were loaded that there would be extra charges, due to more space being used. I was assured it would only be $200 or so. The total cost was $5,744.92. That is nearly double what we were quoted. We were in a bind, they had packed almost everything, and we were planning on leaving the next day. We could not tell them to unload everything and then find new movers. This was also deceptive. We were told that our items would be delivered within a few days, that they would make it easy for us. We waited 3 WEEKS for our items. Let me repeat that, 3 WEEKS. My husband would call to get a status update, and no one would call or email us back. We drove across the country and brought very little with us, because we were assured that our items would be delivered to us ASAP. So after the 3 week mark we finally get in touch with Fastway, who says your items could come Sunday or Monday. We asked for the drivers name and number. The staff person did not know this information. How can you have a driver responsible for your clients items, and not know their name and number? We were eventually given a number, after asking multiple times. The number provided was incorrect. We had no way of contacting the driver. The driver shows up on Monday afternoon. He says he cannot drive the truck into the apartment complex due to the size of the truck. We spoke with the maintenance supervisor, who has worked at the apartment complex for 9 years, who stated that each week he sees larger trucks in the complex. He literally drew the driver a diagram on how to get in. The driver refused. We were told we would have to pay $600 extra to get a new smaller truck. We were outraged. How could this be. After being hung up on several times by the supervisor, Ricardo; and being yelled at by the driver: who said that he was going to throw our stuff in storage and leave it there. We were told they could bring it down to an extra $200. We had no other choice. We said we would pay. Upon getting our items we discovered that not only was just about every item damaged; there were expensive items missing. We attempted to contact the office, both by phone and email, but no one has responded. My desk was literally crushed and is unusable. The movers who packed up my apartment took everything apart, even air filters- they assured me that the movers on the other end would put all of it back together. That did not happen. I feel that I was completely taken advantage of. When I am quoted a price, I assume the price will be somewhere around that. If it could be more I would understand, but double?! The lack of communication throughout this ordeal has been frustrating. Also, due to us not having our belongings for over 3 weeks, we had to purchase new items- a futon to sleep on, cups, plates, cutting boards, towels, etc. This may seem like small purchases, but they all add up. I would emphatically encourage NO ONE to use this company. They have made no effort to take responsibility for the items that were lost/ stolen and damaged. There was hundreds of dollars worth of damage. I would never use them and I strongly encourage everyone else to avoid this company.

Long-distance move from Hartford, CT to San Francisco, CA

Horrible Experience.

COMPLETE SCAM. Worst experience I've ever had with any business. We were told by Ken Jackson we were getting a great rate with this company because they didn't act as brokers in hiring physical movers and that their guys were in-house. Despite showing up a day later than the date scheduled on the contract, the movers shared with us that they couldn't honor the contract because we had more cubic feet than expected. We initially walked through our small one bedroom apartment and listed off the items in our home and the approximated size of each item. We compiled a list of 320 square feet and received our contractual amount, paid the deposit and thought we were in the clear. The movers told us that the price wasn't going to be what was in the contract because the brokers approximate things. We assumed that was ok because maybe they were off a couple of items/cubic feet. Turns out the movers estimated us at $1500 more than the original contract and that the movers weren't in house and a separate company. After contacting the original person, Ken Jackson of Fastway Moving, he told us he was unable to honor the contract and gave us a new price closer towards the movers price. We were taken aback because we had signed a contract, the price shouldn't be negotiated at all. We wanted to ship what was on the original contract, nothing more, nothing less. Also, Ken Jackson had promised us a $300 discount because they showed up a day late. This was no longer being honored.. After hanging up on us multiple times after we stated we were unable to pay the extra $1500 that wasn't originally included and an hour of unnecessary negotiation, the movers got in their vehicle and left. Now we're forced to seek legal action on Fastway Moving to have our deposit returned. I've never experienced anything like this. This company is a complete scam.

Do not recommend fastway moving.

If the application would allow me I would have given this company a big fat ZERO. I contracted with them last year to have furniture moved from Masssachusetts to Brazil. Unlike many of you, it did eventually show up but after almost a year. Many items were broken or parts missing. Whenever I spoke to anyone they provided me with either miss information or plain out lied. Most often it was a situation where no one answered the phone, returned voice messages, or responded to text messages. My furniture, which included a baby grand piano was valued at more than $40,000 and because of the missing or destroyed items it will take sometime to replace them. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND using this company for anything.

DO NOT hire this company. they suck !!

Hello, I had a very traumatic experience with fastway, I do not recommend it to anyone. I closed everything with Marcelo Castroviejo to make my move from storage in NY to BH, Brazil. At first he was great and very helpful and assured me that I was hiring the best moving company. I hardly knew the nightmare it would cause me! they removed my stuff from storage on 10/31/16 and after many non-return calls and almost having a heart attack for fear of losing everything, the change reached its destination on 4/23/17. (Almost 6 months later) I had gone to Brazil on 02/17 for 5 weeks to receive my move according to the deadline agreed with Marcelo, who assured me that I would arrive in that period. I went back to NY without receiving and stayed in BH in an empty apt with nothing, nor a bed to sleep in. And the worst thing, my mother, who was very old and sick, died 10 days after leaving Brazil. I spent most of my time trying to find out the location of my move, calling Porto de Santos for a fastway and they didn't answer. I went to the BH and NY police, it was difficult because I didn't have a tracking number, I always asked but they never gave me the number and in Porto they had no way to check without information from the container. I was very nervous, Anyway it was a nightmare !! I could have made the most of my time with my mom and sided with her instead of being like crazy trying to figure out the whereabouts of my stuff and fighting when I could talk to them on the fastway. Everything was great until the point of the move but from then on, they often didn't even answer the phone anymore and Marcelo didn't return the calls anymore. The biggest problem was not the delay, this can happen, but the lack of professionalism and respect from Fastway employees with their customers, that was unacceptable. Then I was sent some complimentary boxes to compensate for all my stress, I accepted but they took almost ONE YEAR to reach the destination. What a stressful experience! . I never do business with that company again. They suck !! I really don't recommend it.
