Dose Moving

This review was from November, but Dose somehow managed to get Yelp to remove it. I don’t want others to experience what we did, so I’m posting it here.

Looking for an incompetent company? You've found it! I reserved and confirmed my move on 9/28 and gave my credit card for a deposit. 2 weeks later, I emailed to confirm that the movers would wear masks, the owner confirmed they would.

The morning of the move, they were scheduled to arrive between 8:30 - 9:00am. At 9:30 when no one had called or shown up, I called and no one answered. I left a message. I also replied to the email mentioned above. I received both a call back and email response saying they would be there any minute - the first lies. At 10, I called again. Marilee assured me they were on the way - another lie. Then she asked me again what my name was - which I had stated at the beginning of the call.

She told me we weren't on the schedule and that I had cancelled on 10/16. Which was yet another lie.

After at least 20 minutes of holding (because I didn't trust her to call me back) she came back on the line to tell me that she found another company to help me out. Help me out?!?! I contracted with Dose, not another company!

Fortunately, this other company came through when Dose failed MISERABLY (Which Marilee seemed to think I should be thankful to her for.) Unfortunately, they had to fit me in to their already busy schedule and didn't start my move until 5pm - 8 hours after I had contracted Dose to handle my move. They didn't finish until 2am. The entire process was a freaking nightmare.

So why so many positive Dose reviews? Perhaps it is because this has happened before and, as Marilee stated in her email to me, if I hadn't told her I was going to post reviews on social media regarding their incompetence she "...was going to offer to help pay for the move but since you plan on writing a bad review we wish you the best."

I wouldn't have cared if they paid for the entire move. I don't want anyone else going through what we did. Positive reviews are earned, not bought. I wouldn't recommend Dose to move an envelope across the street, let alone trust them with your household items.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $100

Using Dose Moving and Storage was an incredible experience for our family move. They were professional and relieved the stress that we were experiencing before they arrived. I will use Dose Moving and Storage for all our future moves and would highly recommend using them when you need quality and professional movers. Great job from everyone involved in this huge house move. They are even storing some of our stuff in their storage vaults till we get settled into our new home.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $2500

If I could give them -5 stars, I would. Overpriced and poor service is an understatement. They don’t even bother to provide you with billing statements because once they get your credit card number they use like it’s theirs. They wound up damaging 50% of the furniture they moved and stored for me. Trying to work with them to resolve the damage has been impossible. They documented the damage not once but twice, and a month later it still remains damaged as it was delivered. When I called to speak with Marilee Dose, the CEO, I was transferred to her husband, Patrick Dose, to explain the ongoing issues. For whatever reason the conversation became very unpleasant very quickly. Patrick Dose went off on a F bomb laced tirade with homophobic language inviting me to his office so he could try to beat me up. I’m not a member of the LGBTQ community, but I do know people who are and there’s no place for such language and threats in the modern world today. All I can say is that I was shocked, but it made for a great recording. If after reading this review you still decide to use them, you’re crazy.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2000

Owners screamed profanities at me when I had a complaint about the move and was looking for a resolution. I was blamed for the owners not booking the appointment correctly, the move taking too long, breaking furniture and them not being prepared. My call to them was not to dispute or to ask for anything other than to finish the move that was booked and paid for. I was meant with F words and screaming by the husband, Patrick Dose (which you will see in these reviews is not uncommon for him). The companies response to my review was "Trump 2020". If you still use this company after that, good luck!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $1900

We were thrilled to work with Thomas and his team on our move. All three of the team members were incredibly personable and made the move very efficient and easy. They were all so accommodating and everything arrived in our new home safe and sound. This was the best team of movers we have had the pleasure to work with and give this company our highest endorsement. Thank you for all that you did to make our move less stressful and we truly appreciate your kindness and excellent customer service!
