Do Not Use This Company!! I Cannot stress this enough! They never came out to see my home and furnishings. They under quoted over the phone and then on the day of the move doubled the price on me. When I complained they offered to leave half of my furniture in order to stay with the original quote. When I asked to talk with a manager, they called someone who then proceeded to argue with me on the phone and got very aggressive and rude to me. When my furniture was delivered to my new home, it looked like it had been dragged over gravel. The mattress covers I had supplied were missing and so was one of my mattresses. I was also missing a 5'x7' foot rug, 2 runners, 2 legs and a top to an antique table, a child's step stool and a 3 step stepstool, the bracket for an antique mirror that went on my antique dresser, the center drawer and side drawer to my roll top desk as well as the privacy panel. and two of the legs for my queen bed. They also damaged a lot of my things. Things that cannot be replaced as my grandfather made them. When I tried to call to have them look for the missing items, they got extremely rude and then quit taking my calls. I wish I could redo my move. This has given my sleepless nights and lots of grief.

They acted all professional but when it was time to come pick up my belongings for the move across the country, nobody showed up. I called all over and got no satisfaction. I had to close on my house and leave and so I made other LAST MINUTE arrangements. I had an attorney call this company and they were rude and hung up on him. I disputed the charge on my credit card and the company didn't fight it so thankfully I did not pay them anything for their non-service. RUN THE OTHER WAY.... ANY OTHER WAY!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $10794

This has been the worst moving experience imaginable (hopefully we'll get our stuff... Not sure we will!). First with the high pressure initial sales call where I knew I didn't have everything listed, but they said I could call back in a couple days and update it, but if I didn't sign right then, they might not have a truck for me (lie number one, they don't have any trucks, they hire out the actual move). Then they never take my call to add stuff to find my final price until 3 days before for the quality assurance call. At that point my rate DOUBLES and the dude won't even give me an hour to explore my options. He tells me (lie number 2) that the truck is in NM and he needs to send it now. When the movers show up (on the last day possible without enough people for the job and jumping the price a little more and then proceeding to take 3 days to do the job, {after the house has closed} and doing a terrible job {not marking boxes, just throwing into boxes, rushing}, who knows if we'll ever see our stuff) they tell me they are a local moving company, there is no NM truck. Then qa guy tells me it is industry standard to wait until the last second (when you literally have no choice) to get the final quote (also a lie according to the movers that came). Then I call their customer service line and she basically calls me a liar. Do not use them whatever you do! Cheaper, better and more control to get your own truck space on something like upack and then hire movers from Craigslist or u haul or something. If you're looking into them, you've been warned!

Do not do business with this company. They take advantage of people in desperation, will get quite a bit of deposit money from you, not provide the service agreed to and will not return any of the deposit money. Their agreement is written in such a way that anything they do will be considered legal. We ended up not using them because they did not provide service ordered.

Don’t fall for the nice talking person you first encounter. Read their agreement thoroughly, read all the reviews you can find on the internet, take your time in deciding before giving any amount of $.

The Better Business Bureau now has given them a rating of F.

Before giving bad reviews and before filing complaints I wrote to the owner and to the billing department. I received no responses.

I just happened upon Cross State Vanlines when I was searching online for a moving company to move me from Los Angeles, CA to Boca Raton, FL.

James Ware was the Senior Dispatch Manager that assisted me with my move, he was very personable, extremely detailed with what I could expect prior to, during and after the move. He was patient and answered ALL of my questions. I also called him back numerous times each week leading up to my move date as I had questions and/or was adding things to my move inventory.

As my move date got closer, I called James one day to see if I could move the date 2 weeks earlier, as I could see I would be done prepping everything for the movers sooner than I had expected.

James called me back the next day with the earlier pick-up date - he eagerly accommodated my request and gave me the details of the movers that would be arriving at my house.

I can't say enough good things about this company, their customer service was great and I want to thank them for all of the assistance they gave to me which made my move so simple.

Should I need to move across state lines again, I will most definitely be using Cross State Vanlines and I will certainly refer them to anyone making a long distance move. I could not have been more pleased with my experience.

I have moved several times in my life and in the past have used a UHAUL but now that I am getting a bit up there in age my wife and I decided this time we would hire a full service mover to handle it for us.

We spoke to a few companies before getting in touch with CROSS STATE and we were getting quoted prices from $2500 to $15,000 so I was having a hard time trusting any of these companies because their prices were so different for what I figured was the same service so i was hesitant to hire any of them..

Then I was put in touch with a representative at CROSS STATE named kayla. She was very sweet and informed me about these brokerage firms that will price jobs at any number the customer is willing to pay just to take their money and never service the job! We went over an inventory and she was more thorough with me then any other company I spoke to previously. I thought to myself “wow if those other movers had showed up they wouldn’t have known about half of my items and my price would’ve SKYROCKETED!” So Thankyou Kayla for being so thorough with me.

CROSS STATES price wasn’t the cheapest and wasn’t the most expensive but for the services they were providing the pricing seemed fair so I signed up…

As the days counted down till my move date I was extremely nervous. I had only heard from cross state a few times and by now had heard some horror stories about moving companies and was afraid that these Nightmare moves I kept hearing about was about to become my reality..

But when the movers showed up their services were amazing! Yes they did run a bit late (I believe they were 2 hours behind schedule) but when they got to my house they got right to work. And they were out of my house within the day. The staff was professional even though a few of the staff members didn’t speak great English I wasn’t paying them to talk to me I was paying them to move my stuff safely so I didn’t mind one bit!

When it came time to have the items delivered again they were a few hours later then expected but they were very efficient! All our beds were set up and staged, all boxes were placed in the rooms that they were labeled to be placed in and the only thing that got to us broken was a glass vase that we packed ourselves (and I’m probably not the greatest packer to say the least) so I wasn’t upset.

To sum it up I couldn’t have been happier with the services CROSS STATE VANLINES provided for us That I almost forgot even write this review but due to all the negative things I have seen in regards to moving companies i felt I needed to give credit where credit is due..

So THANKYOU EVERYONE AT CROSS STATE from the sales team to the customer service team to the actual movers THANKYOU VERY MUCH and if I ever move again I will certainly be using your services!

THIS COMPANY IS THE ULTIMATE DEFINITION OF EXTORTION!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR A MOVING SERVICE! This company is the worst at brokering your move. It seems that there are no background checks done on the subcontractors(we did not know we were being subcontracted until it was too late) as we had 3 guys show up and had no idea that they were supposed to pack as we were quoted that. However, they said that they will take care of it and after they had our stuff on the trucks( yes, trucks because they rent budget trucks... THEY DON'T OWN ANY TRUCKS) they said we owed them another several thousand dollars. When we declined they said that our stuff will remain on the truck until they got paid and one of them drove away. The police would not intervene because there are contracts involved (doesn't seem okay). So we paid, but now we don't know when we are getting our things and like others said, no one would answer our calls! Finally my husband got through and threaten them with contacting authorities again. They called to say we will be getting out things in one week. So when they came almost unannounced they would not unload until we paid them a few thousands. And it was a totally different crew who were just as corrupt as everyone at this company! THEY ONLY WANTED CASH! They were about to drive off with our things but we wanted to be done with this nightmare!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER... DO NOT USE THEM!!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THE PRESSURE OF DATES NOT BEING AVAILABLE LATER.. SHOP AROUND! By the way, they just literally threw everything in our garage and left! Breaking many things but there is no information on insurance or where to call to claim anything.... DON'T HIRE THEM!!! THIS MOVE WAS TRIPLE FROM THE ORGINAL QUOTE!!!

It’s been over 3 months since I moved. Still waiting for my things. Now they don’t even answer the phone. Cross state and AMM trucking are the same company. The worst. Was told I was scheduled for last week (10/27/2021). Did not show. It’s been a nightmare. I have filed a complaint with Fed Motor Coach people. They told me if I paid them the balance they would let me know where my stuff is so I can go pick it up myself. Like I would trust them to be honest. Going to start legal proceedings. Stay far away. The complimentary reviews are obviously planted
