Local move within Idaho

Bad at every turn

Zero communication, lack luster management at best, showing up outside of schedule times, roughly handling your stuff. In 25 years of military and government service The worst moving experience I’ve ever had.

Local move within Connecticut

Armstrong cares for bigger customers only.

I found moving Armstrong online as a local CT company, the customer service rep seems to be pleasant and scheduled the sales person even to come and estimate the load. He came, gave me a quote, I signed it, called the next day, gave my c/c number and scheduled the delivery. The price was on a higher end, but  I had one day left before the scheduled day, so I was ok. A few hours later Linda called and said that they cannot come on a scheduled day (wick was tomorrow)  because they have a "Bigger customer to take care of" and offered me to move the date from Wednesday to Saturday and this is in less than 24 hours notice can you even imagine how I felt? They dumped me after multiple confirmations and c/card info because of the bigger customer. I was lucky to find a more responsible and cheaper company in the area that was happy to help me within less than 24 hours notice. It was vanguard logistics. Do not use arm storing moving, it is just a horrifying experience.  .

Long-distance move from Rhode Island to Nebraska

Armstrong Rocks!

I was referred to this company by my new job administration (from RI to NE). I had to find other companies to choose from. It was a very painful experience to choose other companies as they had infelxible moving dates, expensive rates, poor communication and inability to handle auto shipping by the same company or at least the same date. I ended up agreeing with choosing only Armstrong Storgae and Moving without adding any competitors just for that. I was initially anxiouss that I will be screwed, but once moving has started, I really was happy I did that and will never regret it. I believe I did the right decision. They first have excellent communication with calling twice before the actual moving date. They also responded pretty well to my calls which where sometimes after working hours. I liked how they anticipate things by giving detailed instructions for preparation. Without it, I may have had bad moving planning. The salesman remained in contact by phone and email with me all throught the moving process and even after it to make sure we were on track. On the day just before moving, I asked them to make an extra stop as I bought a set of reclining sectional at a nearby store without previous planning. Luckily, they resonded positively and quickly arranged for that. I had to add an extra $50 for that which was nothing compared to a lot more if I were to do the shipping myplace to my place for pick up. The guys who'd did the pick up and delivery were so polite and obviously trained very well. They did all the packing gently and quickly. I moved a Studio plus the new sectional and table, and my car. All of that took less than three hours for pick up and the same upon delivery. In short, I strongly recommend this company with all what the word strongly means.  .

Long-distance move from Quebec to Ontario

Trust-able.

Giving a trust-able tag for a moving service is something one should give after putting a lot thought into it. I have experienced myself in many instances while moving, that some movers really make you pay more and more until the packages are unpacked at your place. This was my third move and first with Armstrong Moving, but I got the idea of trusting them from the instant they started the packing process. They packed all my personal possessions with proper care and the packages themselves made the items safe, especially the expensive ones. The whole process of moving was less stressful and after unpacking, I had the biggest smile on my face. My previous experiences with moving companies have left bad impression in me,   but this time it was a pleasing one.

Long-distance move from Colorado to New York

They are the worst.

Movers were to come in the morning. They came at 4pm. The packing of the truck went ok except they decided to charge me more for my boxes despite the fact that I was no longer taking two large club chairs, one ottoman, and two recliners. Moving in was a nightmare. The driver said he needed to transfer my stuff to a smaller truck to deliver and that too cost me more. The driver demanded cash for the rest of the move even though I had a cashier's check. Many items were broken and the driver quit his job while here. As a result we helped move boxes because he did not. We got some other peoples boxes. The worst part was my mattress can uncovered and filthy in the back of the truck.

Shame on Armstrong.

We used Armstrong Relocation, based in Randolf, New Jersey for our move of a lifetime, from Long Island to Sarasota, Florida in December 2019, 3 months ago. We got to them through United Van Lines, the large and well regarded moving company. We paid for packing and unpacking. The amount of our household goods did not meet their minimum so we paid the minimum anyway, because we were so impressed with their presentation.

What a mistake. It has been a nightmare. During the move my husband's extraordinary set of gulf clubs and bag "disappeared" off the truck. Two antique cane back chairs in perfect condition were delivered with the caning punched through. We have been filing claims and making calls and filling out paperwork for 3 months and this loss has not been resolved. The movers brought our things into our new home and did not unpack one box although they were paid to do so. The company offered us $172 to compensate on a bill of over $4000.

The company's position is that we have to produce original receipts for the golf clubs and the chairs, and we have no such receipts. We can prove replacement value; however, the company, their reps, and their claims department are demanding original receipts and they are consistently evasive, intransigent and totally dishonest. I would warn any prospective homeowner to avoid this company.

Shame on Armstrong. Shame on United Van Lines.
