A-Plus Moving & Storage

I moved from a three bedroom to a three bedroom. I explained everything that I had to move including my grill and appliances which were a washer and dryer when I made my first call and spoke with Mike. I was sent a quote from him of $135 an hour for 3 men and that it would take about 6 hours. I figured 8 hours tops and I was okay with that as I was only moving from Roslindale to Brighton. That's 25 minutes away; truck route 44 minutes on a busy day.

I had 1 bed, 2 mattresses and 1 box-bring; 1 dresser, a sectional, kitchen table with 4 chairs, a single sofa chair, about 15 40 gallon bags with clothes and shoes; boxes and bins with kitchen supplies and miscellaneous things, 5 TVs, and 2 night stands. I also had 1 end table, a sofa table and a nail tech table. My sectional was already in 5 pieces easily, they broke it down in 10 pieces unnecessarily/unnaturally and tore it. They broke my nail tech table completely in half. Scratched up my kitchen table base, lost a leg to my leather single sofa and cracked my mirrored end table. They put everything which was all labeled, anywhere and in anyway regardless of how it was labeled. I had a box of seasonings they put upside down that leaked out everywhere. They broke glasses that were bubble wrapped and in boxes, it looked like they threw the boxes or stacked heavy items on top of them. They put all the bags in the sun room with no way for me to get in and make sense of it. They broke my roaster and put 55 inch TVs on the sectional. They also broke my bed - didn’t disassemble or reassemble it correctly the slates were broken, some missing and not inserted in the slots. They stacked a bunch of heavy bags on top of a hat box which crushed and ruined a bunch of expensive hats.

They stacked flammable things against every radiator in the new place and if I didn't smell plastic melting it would've caused a fire. That's not something you can explain away, your movers were responsible for this move and anything that would've gone wrong on account of it. They basically didn't handle anything with care or regard to what it was. They took two trips unnecessarily and took 1.5 hours driving each way. They came two hours early, stopped within a half hour to take an hour break. They took 12 hours yet charged for 14 hours even though they took at least 3 one hour breaks at $155 an hour for 4 men. $200 additionally for the grill, washer and dryer and charged $80 for supplies used which were tape and boxes wrapped around things they still damaged. Again this was never quoted or mentioned as an additional charge and we were charged for something else as well because it still doesn't add up to the total amount we paid you. I hired movers twice before, this was not something I expected as I had other options that may have been more an hour but it wouldn't have been damages, hidden fees or cost over $2500 nor would it have taken 14 hours. I am sure that is not the normal turnaround time.

We fed them, we tipped them generously and it wasn’t about the money or time until we saw the damages. We told them to take their time (not take advantage.) Again we paid over $2500! Everything they damaged is less than a year old and I have proof as I ordered most of it online and still have my receipts. I don't expect a replacement, it'll cost way more than this move cost to replace my things but I do expect to be fairly compensated not just for my damages but for all the time they wasted traveling back and forth and doing unnecessary things to milk time.

They wrapped up a box-spring and put it on the truck which was fine. They brought this same box-spring inside the new place and completely took it apart because it was fold-able. No one is sleeping on a box-spring that is broken down so it made no sense to break it down after the move. It was just a way to waste time. They wasted time breaking down an entire bedroom set. I told them 5 times it was not going and was ready to leave the grill behind that I had to remind them about numerous times. I can't think of one thing positive to say about this move. The most I expected was for things to be in places it shouldn't be not to have all the damages I have incurred. I was willing to take the lost if it wasn't so bad but this is awful. Every time I open a box or move something I see new damages. To add insult to injury after I called about the damages Mike comes with false assault allegations against my partner. Again this was never mentioned prior to me making this complaint verbally because it never happened.

A-Plus Moving had impeccable customer service. They were flexible on the pick up date and time and also were very upfront in costs. There were no hidden fees or unexpected additional charges.  My sales rep and the customer service team were kind, and had very thorough follow up. I was able to have all my items picked up on the day I wanted and they came early!  They also delivered it on the day I wanted.  There was no damage or missing items.  Everyone handling my equipment were nice.  .

We hired A Plus Movers & Storage for our move from state to state. We gave a deposit to A Plus Movers however who showed up was Noah's Movers based out of Balitmore MD, who arrived 4 hrs late. Was told that we would have to give approx. $400 to the movers when they arrived. One of the movers spent most of the time outside on his cell phone, the other was upstairs doing who knows what. In the middle of the job, one of the movers told my husband that we would have to give an additional $725 or he could not continue with the move. It was already 8 pm and we felt we didn't have much of a choice. So we gave them the $400 an additional $725..and that we would have to have an additional $1300 upon delivery which was not what was agreed upon. Our delivery date was the following Thursday and there was no communication from the company to us letting us know that delivery was going to be on schedule. Saturday came and still no items, following Thursday and still no items. Called every day from the scheduled date and was always told that someone would call us back but no one did. Finally was told that they have 14 - 30 days from the set delivery date to delivery our belongings however when asked where our items are they either don't know or it is still in the warehouse. My toddlers are sleeping on blow up beds because their beds are not here. We have now been waiting almost 12 days for our belongings to arrive and still expect to get paid. The contract was for $1150 and was told that they didn't have to provide us with proof of the fact that they claim I have 6500 lbs worth of items when I know I don't.

  My cousin’s family recently moved from San Francisco to Boston. I was helping them in the move, packing, researching on the interstate moving service. Originally we contacted brokerage company from San Fran for the references as well as we looked up on Yelp.com. Brokers recommended to use Boston based companies such as Best Movers, Stair Hopper, A-Plus Moving and provided us with competitive price comparison. A-Plus sounded promising and indeed the service was way more than satisfying. The guys showed up on time, seemed and acted upmost professional. Delivery took about 9 days and went with no damages. This was not the first time I and my family was moving interstate. On behalf of my cousin’s family and personally myself I would like to say thank you for a very good experience.  .
